CryoPak Series Biological Shippers are designed for transporting small quantities of biological materials like embryos, semen, and other specimen at cryogenic temperatures. This container overcomes the hazards of shipping such materials in conventional liquid nitrogen refrigerators, where refrigerant can be lost by spillage.
This shipper contains a unique absorbent filler that can hold several pounds of liquid nitrogen. This gives the shipper the holding time and capacity to fit the specific task of transporting biological materials conveniently and safely. When properly filled, there is no liquid to spill if the unit is tipped over.
materials to be stored in the shipper are placed in a canister which is lowered into the shipper. The necktie core and cap hold the canister in place. The canister and its contents are surrounded by cold nitrogen vapor from the saturated filler. Storage temperatures inside the shipping cavity remain at about -320F (-196C) until all of the liquid nitrogen has evaporated from the filter. Lid can be secured to vessel with zip tie or lock.
This unit was procured from a local lab trying to downsize their inventory and square footage. It is in like new condition and ready to use!
